I can’t believe the summer is half over! Boy time flies. I have been busy this summer designing, moulding and casting new pieces. I am excited to debut some of the new designs this coming fall at the Cabbagetown Festival. In the mean time I have posted two new designs in my Etsy shop. Both are pairs of earrings.
The first pair of earrings are a sort of chandelier, stud style earring. They are made up of three graduated cast lace circles. These earrings have great movement and presence. Just today I was told by a woman in a store how much she loved them! They would be stunning on a bride but can also be dressed down. (I had them on with lace shorts and a plain tank top.)
The second pair is a pair of hook earrings. This pair incorporates freshwater pearl. They are very classy and feminine. These too would look great on a bride!
What do you think of these new designs? I can’t wait to show you some more of what I’ve been working on. So many ideas still in my head!
To see more of my new designs pop by my booth at the Cabbagetown Fesitval happening September 11-13.
We are very excited to be featured in Canadian Living’s July issue!
We are featured along with 15 other Canadian makers in the article “True Patriot Love.” We are honoured to be included in this collection of amazing talented people. Congrats to all the other artists/makers featured in the article!

On May 2nd I had the opportunity to participate as a vendor in the Spring The Wedding Co. Show at the Gladstone Hotel here in Toronto. It was my first wedding show experience and I had a great time! I met so many amazing vendors – bakers, wedding planners, florists, stylists, caterers, the list goes on! I also spoke with a lot of fantastic brides-to-be and received many great compliments and wonderful feedback on my work. I cannot wait to hear from some of the brides that I spoke with and start designing your perfect pieces!
Here are some photos of my jewellery taken by EvaImagePhotography. She captures my jewellery so beautifully!
Are you a bride who is planning an upcoming wedding. Looking for the perfect piece (or pieces) of jewellery to go with your dress?
Look no further. SarahAnaDesigns has unique, stunning pieces of jewellery perfect for a bride-to-be and her bridesmaids.
Most of the pieces we make are from cast pieces of lace. We have pieces in all shapes and sizes from super dainty to statement pieces. We can also make custom pieces to suit any budget. We think pearls are the perfect accompaniment to the lace so many of our pieces use freshwater pearls. Want more bling or the addition of some colour. We can add stones or diamonds to your pieces to bling them up.
Since we mold and cast all our own pieces we can cast in any metal – brass, sterling silver, and any karat gold – rose, yellow or white. We can also plate metal.
We also make custom wedding and engagement rings for both men and woman and have a large variety of pieces that would make great gifts for bridesmaids.
If you would like more information send us an e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org or visit our Etsy Shop.
After a busy holiday season and a much needed few days off I am back and ready to kick off what I believe is going to be a great year! I am starting to choose some new lace and sketch out some new designs. I am also starting to prep for the Spring One of a Kind Show already (It is only 11 weeks away!).
Though I love prepping for shows and doing production work, I also love doing custom pieces! Before Christmas I had the opportunity to create some unique pieces for some clients that I would love to share with you!
First is a 14k rose gold monogram pendant. Given to a mother from her children. The “M” on the pendant is the initial of her grandchild.
Next up I made a 14k white gold pendant with diamond and pearl. This pendant was commissioned for a new mother. Pearl was chosen as her daughter was born in June and pearl is June’s birthstone.
The third piece is again a pendant. This one was for another Grandmother. The piece is made in 14k Yellow gold and has her 4 grandchildren represented by the 4 gemstones – ruby (July), diamond (April), amethyst(February) and another ruby (July). It is quite large. The circle was about an inch wide.
I had a lot of fun making some custom rings. The first one I made was a 10k yellow gold cocktail ring with smokey quartz. I kind of want to make one for myself!
The next piece was made back in the summer but I feel it is worth sharing! These are a set of stacking rings that my father gave my mother as a 40th wedding anniversary gift. They represent myself and my three sisters. The number of diamonds used on each of the rings are our birth dates. 1 diamond for my sister born August 1, 9 for my sister born June 9th, 13 for me – born March 13, and 4 for my sister born May 4th. Most of the diamonds used were recycled from some pieces of jewellery that my father had. I love that I was able to make these for my mom. It makes them extra special.

“Start spreading the news…I’m leaving today…I want to be a part of it…New York, New York…” Frank Sinatra
I’ve just returned from a long weekend away in the big apple. It was my first time visiting New York City and it will definitely not be the last!
What an amazing city. There is so much to see and do. I feel like I only saw a small fraction of the city. What stands out for me most is the amazing art deco architecture. So much thought and care went into each building. The details are amazing! I couldn’t stop taking pictures. Here are a few of my favourite details. I can’t wait to start designing pieces inspired by these buildings. Gorgeous!
We were staying just 3 blocks away from…
Diamond Jewellery Way! LOL. This street is mainly just jewellery related shops. Kind of reminded me of our jewellery district.
I saw this shop on 5th Ave and just had to go in!
It was like a dream in there. So many different types of lace! I picked some up so I can make some new designs! Good thing they have an online shop! http://www.mjtrim.com
Here is a sneak peak of some that I bought.
We went to the Met and saw a jewellery exhibition called Jewels by Jar. It was a show of 400+ pieces of jewellery made by New York Jeweller Joel. A Rosenthal. The exhibition was really interesting. Unfortunately you couldn’t take pics in the exhibition so here is a pic from the Mets website. His works are totally encrusted in jewels!
So much to see, so little time! It was a fantastic little getaway before a busy next few weeks prepping for the One of a KInd Show! I am feeling refreshed and inspired!

In July we had the honour of making a pair of earrings for the beautiful bride-to-be Whitney Ludwig.
Whitney was looking for earrings with a vintage feel. She wanted beads and rhinestones, a tad of colour, and since they were the only piece of jewellery she was going to be wearing they needed to make a statement. Here is what we came up with…
We think Whitney (and the earrings) looked stunning! Congrats to the new Mrs. Koert on her marriage to Chris!
Hard to believe we are already well into June and with the return of summer in just a few days comes wedding season!
