Sarah Ana Designs were happy to participate and introduce our line of jewellery to many people in the Blue Mountain area. All participating jewellery artists had very different and distinct styles offering shoppers a wide variety.
We made quick friends with two jewellers near our table, Judy Shield, a very talented painter who made jewellery from pebbles and driftwood painted with her own mini masterpieces, and Janice Langlois, who made very beautiful jewellery using unique stones and beads. We had a great time discussing our various jewellery techniques (And when it was quiet in the gallery discussing our favourite books).
I also met Bonnie Dorgelo, of Dorgelo Jewellery and Fine Art whose sterling silver jewellery was a hit among shoppers and the Grey Grannies who were selling Kazuri Jewellery made by women in Kenya with all proceeds from the sale of their pieces being donated to the Stephen Lewis Foundation Grandmothers to Grandmothers campaign to “support African grandmothers and the millions of AIDS orphans in their care.”
Thanks so much to The Loft Gallery for such an amazing job hosting the event. The gallery really is the heart of the Clarksburg community. It is so nice to see Phil, Debra and Maura so devoted to exposing and showcasing Canadian contemporary artists.
Hope to see everyone out at Jewellery Day next year!
