Clever name and clever crafters: Vaughan-of-a-Kind Show 2011

Let the holiday shopping season begin! This weekend Sarah Ana Designs set up shop at the Vaughan-of-a-Kind Show in Vaughan, just north of Toronto.

Each November, the City of Vaughan hosts the Vaughan-of-a-Kind – a smaller, one-day version of the infamous One-of-A-Kind Show in Toronto. Local artists, crafters, photographers and more turn the Vellore Village Community Centre into a shopper’s delight, and this year was no exception! We met lots of wonderful visitors, who were so pleased to be buying locally made gifts and treats for themselves too! There really was something for everyone.

Me included! I couldn’t help picking up a few purchases for a few special people on my holiday shopping list!

Right next to our booth was Love Zoe – Little Girl Luxury. Sally was selling pretty handmade headbands, crocheted hats and feathered fascinators. So, some big girls picked up pretty headbands for the holiday party season! (The luxury fits big girls, too!)

Also from Love Zoe – Little Girl Luxury, a darling pink tutu for my sister’s best friend’s little one.

Each year, we also love to catch up with Marcia and Dorothy, whose hand-knit scarves and mitts sell like hotcakes!

We also picked up some handmade greeting cards from HGB Designs. The cards have breathtaking photographs on them…and who doesn’t love getting a card in the mail!

All-in-all a great day! Mark your calendar for next year’s sale (usually the third Saturday in November!)

And, if you are free this weekend, we’ve got two shows! One, in Clarksburg, Ontario near Collingwood. It’s Jewelry Day at Loft Gallery. The second is a home show. Email me for details!
