On the boardwalk, under the sun (my view from beyond my bench)

Yesterday I showed you the view from behind the bench, so today I thought I would take you on a quick tour of beyond my bench — outside the craft corridor (aka fishbowl!) where I spend my days.

Every morning I greet the day with a walk along the boardwalk beside Lake Ontario. Most mornings I head over to the Tim Hortons in the next building and grab a cup of tea to wake me up before hitting the grindstone…or in my case grinding wheel or truing stone (a little jeweller humour for you!). Each day I notice something new I’ve never noticed before…like this one weird flourescent pink light that is embedded in the walkway. (I’m kicking myself that I didn’t take a picture of it!)

I love to see the pigeons huddled up against the wall of the Power Plant building, the Kajama tall ship with its large sails docked on the water, and when I pass the Natrel Pond I long for the days when I can go skating on its frozen water (and if the temperature tonight is any indication, that’ll be soon!)

I can’t wait to see what other things I discover in the area! I’ll be sure to bring my camera along for any exploratory walks I go on so I can share what hidden treasures I find!
